Certificate of Worthiness (SLF)

Certificate of Worthiness (SLF)

A Certificate of Worthiness (SLF) is a certificate for a building that has been completed and meets the technical worthiness requirements for its intended function. The SLF is issued by the regency or city government.

The SLF is more than an administrative document. It is proof that the building has been inspected and declared safe for occupants, employees, and visitors. For businesses, the SLF is also part of the building legality requirements for buildings used for business activities.

An SLF is generally required in situations such as:

  • A newly completed building that is about to be put into use
  • An existing building that does not yet have an SLF
  • A building whose SLF needs to be renewed
  • A building that has undergone a change of function, an extension, or renovation
  • Factories, warehouses, offices, shophouses, hotels, schools, and other public buildings that require legal approval to operate

The worthiness inspection covers various aspects of the building, including:

  • Safety: structural strength, fire protection, lightning protection, and evacuation systems
  • Health: ventilation, lighting, sanitation, and clean water
  • Comfort: comfort of the spaces and the environment within the building
  • Accessibility: accessibility and facilities for all users, including people with disabilities
  • Building conformity: conformity of on-site conditions with the PBG and as-built drawings

We accompany you from the initial inspection until the SLF is issued. Where required, investigation survey and structural audit results from our team can be used as supporting data for structural worthiness.
